Today Eid al Adha -the feast of sacrifice- is celebrated by Muslims all around the world. Yesterday markets throughout the Gaza Strip were bustling as people were preparing for this important holiday; buying groceries, gifts, and those who could afford also bought animals for sacrificing, which took place early this morning.
Here are some pictures from yesterday’s markets in the old city of Gaza and in Bureij refugee camp, central Gaza Strip. And for those who can stomach it, there are also snapshots of the sacrificing of a bull. The meat of the sacrificed animals is shared among families and given to the poor.
